Two Unequal Spheres in Slow Viscous Linear Shear Flow

This report depicts a study intended to determine the influence of air shear on the trajectories of small cloud droplets to predict the conditions under which cloud droplets will collide. Specifically, it defines the forces and torques experienced by droplet pairs because of the presence of shear in the fluid medium. The results are presented in the form of tables of coefficients which enable the forces and torques on each body to be computed for any orientation of shear.
