Serendipity : Research Career of One Scientist

Dr. Akira Kasahara reflects on his career of more than 65 years in the field of meteorology, specifically the fields of numerical weather prediction and computational modeling of the atmosphere. As his career evolved in parallel with the advancement of modern meteorology, he documents his research opportunities, his motivation to undertake a particular task and what he learned from it. Akira Kasahara is a Senior Research Associate in the Atmospheric Modeling & Predictability section in Climate and Global Dynamics (CGD) at the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR).
