On the Interaction Between Mesoscale Eddies and Topography

Numerical experiments performed with the help of Bretherton and Karweit's mid-ocean model are described. Two layers in the vertical direction are included and the horizontal dimension of the system was chosen to be 3091 km x 3091 km. The aim of these numerical experiments is the study of the interaction of a large-scale flow with a mesoscale topography; Eddy-eddy interactions in the absence of topography; and Eddy-eddy interactions in the presence of a mesoscale topography.
