A Polarization Calibration Technique for the Advanced Stokes Polarimeter

This document presents an efficient method for determination of the polarimeter response function of the Advanced Stokes Polarimeter (ASP). ASP has a linear polarizer which can be positioned in 450 increments, and a chromatic (approximately X/4) wave plate which can also be so positioned. The additional calibration configurations afforded by this combination allow determination of the retardance of the waveplate and the telescope output Stokes vector as part of the calibration procedure.
