Abstract

The Gulf Of Tehuantepec Experiment, Coupled Development of Ocean Waves and Boundary Layers (aka OceanWaves) was an experiment that aimed to measure the coupled development of the atmospheric boundary layer and the surface wave field over the Gulf of Tehuantapec, off southern Mexico's Pacific coast. GOTEX was conducted during the period from February 3 to February 29, 2004. This dataset contains Low-Rate (LRT, 1 sps) airborne measurements obtained from the NSF/NCAR Research Aviation Facility (RAF) C-130Q Hercules aircraft (Tail Number N130AR). The files are in netCDF format. NOTE: These data were updated May, 2011 to correct a systematic bias in the 3-D winds.
