Relationships Between Crop Damage and Hailfall Parameters on the High Plains

Abstract

This report describes an experimental program that was conducted during the summer of 1975 to obtain data required to estimate crop-hail damage functions, i.e., empirical relationships between crop damage due to hail and one or more hailfall parameters. These functions provide a means of translating the effects of hail suppression activities on hailfall parameters into economic benefits and/or losses.
