The Mean Circulation of the Tropical and Subtropical Atmosphere-July
The purpose of this atlas is to provide a long-term data set to describe the mean structure of the tropical atmosphere straddling the equator for the period of the northern hemisphere summer monsoon (May through July). The data covers the 14 year period from 1961 through 1974. For the months of July during that period, all available upper air data for the tropics were scrutinized manually, and an attempt was made to eliminate all possible tabulation and reduction errors. In this volume, monthly averaged rawinsonde data for July have been collected for the latitude belt from 45N to 40S for the 14 - year period 1961 - 1974. The data for China are restricted to the period 1968 - 1973.
