R/V Discoverer DMS Measurements
11.7
This dataset consists of continuous air and seawater DMS (dimethylsulfide) concentrations and flux measurements taken aboard the R/V Discoverer by Tim Bates (NOAA/PMEL). These data consist of time (julian day), location (lat/lon) and 30-min averages of seawater and atmospheric DMS concentrations and flux calculation. Air samples were collected from 14 m ASL and are reported in units of nmol per cubic meter at standard temperature (25 deg C) and pressure (101.3 kPa). Seawater samples were collected from a depth of 5 m and are reported in units of nmol per cubic meter. The flux of DMS from the ocean to the atmosphere in micromoles per square meter per day was calculated using the exchange coefficients of Wanninkhof (1992). This dataset was processed and quality controlled following the ACE-1 field phase.
