Lidar Radar Open Software Environment (LROSE) Core Software
LROSE is a software system designed to handle atmospheric radar and lidar data analysis for the research and operations community. It was funded by the NSF from 2016 to 2021. The LROSE team is a collaboration between Colorado State University (CSU) and NCAR. The NCAR team developed lrose-core, a suite of applications that is a combination of legacy and new software. The CSU team developed a suite of primarily wind-retrieval applications that are not included in the core. A principal aim of LROSE is to document the applications so that they are understandable and readily accessible to the research community. Where appropriate, the applications are based on methods published in peer-reviewed journals. Lrose-core versions are based on the date of each release, for example lrose-core-20200630.
