Report on the MkIII Calibration and Quality Assurance Project
This report addresses the MkIII Calibration and Quality Assurance Project areas where effort needed to be applied were determined through an examination of current and historical data. The group formed so as to evaluate MkIII data and to further improve the MkIII data reduction and quality assurance. The goals were to: 1. establish a quality assurance program to examine raw and reduced data, 2. implement a new calibration technique, free of systematic errors, 3. establish a procedure to calibrate raw and reduced data, and produce a synoptic data set, 4. make the transport of raw data into and out of archival storage fast and reliable, and store data in a computer library accessible to the Scientific Community, and 5. determine operational changes which would improve data quality and coverage.
