Antarctic IR Composite Satellite Imagery
4.815
Composite Infrared (IR) imagery of the Antarctic Region collected during the ACE-1 period via McIDAS-X and converted to GIF image format. These images consist of polar stereographic projection of the South Pole, 20 km resolution, collected every 3 hours. This imagery contains infrared data composited from all available satellites (GOES and POES) during a 3-hourly interval, produced by the University of Wisconsin's Space Science and Engineering Center (SSEC). Digital McIDAS Area format files (10 km resolution) were collected every 3 hours at OFPS from the SSEC from which these GIF images were created.
