Title

Regional Acid Deposition: Models and Physical Processes

Abstract

This report reviews the physical and chemical phenomena that give rise to regional acidic precipitation and deposition, from the viewpoint that mathematical modeling of these phenomena is necessary and feasible. While the review is not exhaustive and all-encompassing, it is lengthy. Accordingly, an Executive Summary is included with the full report. Part 1: Executive Summary, I. The Acid Rain Phenomenon: A General Physical Description, II. The Role Of Models In Environmental Assessment, III. Review Of Existing Models, IV. The Mathematics And Physics Of Meteorological Models, V. The Chemistry Of Acid Generation In The Troposphere Part 2: VI. Development Of Acid Deposition Models, VII. Summary And Conclusions, VIII.
